What will I learn?

The Spanish program strives to engage students in the processes of critical reading and writing, taking as the object of study the literary, linguistic, cultural and cinematic heritage of Spain and Latin America. To develop students communicative skills, the program provides instruction that assists students in acquiring and refining the ability to speak, understand, read and write the Spanish language. Moreover, the programs literature courses enable students to examine a wide range of periods and genres, and to tailor their plans of study according to their specific interest. BA Advanced 120 credit hours of study with a minimum GPA of 2.0 in all faculty-required courses. Students select a major and minor program of study or a double major in lieu of a minor.

Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.Direct entry applicants are those who have not attended a post-secondary institution or have completed fewer than 24 credit hours at a recognized university or college.Advanced entry applicants are those who have completed one year (24 credit hours) or more of studies in another faculty at the University of Manitoba or another recognized post-secondary institution.
