What will I learn?

The Criminal Justice program focuses on the study of social, cultural and governmental responses to crime. This includes a study of law making and lawbreaking and transgression, use of state power, including different dimensions of the police, courts, and corrections. The program explores issues of social justice, surveillance, law, socio-legal connections, offending, victims, and policy and practices found in institutions of justice. This program offers three Bachelor of Arts degree programs (3-year, 4-year, or Honours). Students taking a degree in another Major may choose to add a Minor in Criminal Justice as a secondary area of interest.

Entry requirements

For international students

The language of instruction at The University of Winnipeg is English. Students must have a level of ability in English that allows them to participate in all aspects of university study, including lectures, reading, writing, and discussion. If English is not the students first/primary language and they are not from an English Exempt Country, they must provide supporting documentation to show they meet one of the conditions below. Students will not be admitted until this requirement has been met. English language measures older than two years will not be considered.
