What will I learn?

Our location in Ottawa puts you at the centre of the political action in Canada. Students have access to unparalleled opportunities to enhance their education and propel their future careers. We have one of the largest Political Science departments in Canada, which gives students lots of choice in course selection.Our program is organized around six major subfields: international relations (including international political economy), comparative politics, political theory, Canadian politics, public policy, and gender and diversity. You can enhance your studies by choosing one of three concentrations: Canadian Politics and Public Policy, International Relations and World Politics, and Power and Political Ideas.In addition, students have opportunities for international exchanges, internships, co-op placements and research assistant opportunities. In fourth year, students can participate in an internship with the Washington Center.

Entry requirements

For international students

You will need the full IB (three standard [SL] and three higher level [HL] subjects), with a minimum of 28 points (please note that some programs are more competitive and will require higher scores).You may have one subject with a grade of 3, provided it is offset by a grade of 5 or better. Prerequisite subjects must have a grade of 4 or better.IB students may be awarded advanced standing (transfer) credit for HL subjects with a grade of 5 or better subject to the discretion of the appropriate faculty, to a maximum of 3.0 credits.If you are currently completing the IB in a Canadian high school, please refer to the admission requirements and application deadlines for your province.
