What will I learn?

The programs of the Department of French are open to the plurality of Francophonies and offer you a complete training in several fields of expertise: literary history and criticism, language, culture and written communication. Through group exchanges, you will be able to discover new visions of the world and develop your critical thinking. Student associations and the Department of French organize literary evenings and reading circles, helping you to combine studies with enriching cultural experiences, while promoting the development of your network. It is also possible to register for the co-op program and gain professional experience while earning an income during your studies.

Entry requirements

For international students

You must have an Ontario high school diploma with at least six 4U-4M or DU-level courses to be eligible for admission to the first year of university. Please note:All the courses that are prerequisites for your chosen program must be 4U-level courses, unless otherwise indicated.We use your top six interim or final grades in 4U, 4M, or DU courses, including the prerequisites for your chosen program, to calculate your admission average. We do not round up your grades.International baccalaureate diplomaApplicants enrolled in the International Baccalaureatenorth_eastexternal link Diploma program are eligible for admission if they have completed (or are in the process of completing) the full IB program and meet the following conditions:Have passed six subjects (including the prerequisites for your program of choice) with at least three at the Standard Level and three at the Higher Level.
