Examples are: consulting services to municipalities, utilities and industry resource agencies in advisory, regulatory, planning and utilization service industries of construction, power and water supply and public health manufacturing, design of computer and control systems, hardware and software development mechatronics and emerging energy systems medical devices, pharmaceutical and food industries and industrial ergonomics academic research and graduate studies both within and outside the field of engineering.We help you gain a competitive edge in the job market as the only Canadian university that offers a uniquely specialized combination of majors. With a curriculum that unites engineering principles with practical, multi-disciplinary design courses, you will be exceptionally positioned for a successful career, both locally and globally.In every year of your program, you will complete at least one major design project. By working through significant and authentic design challenges, youll apply your technical knowledge and advance your skills this hands-on design experience is what will empower you and give you that competitive edge over others.The curriculum includes a strong emphasis on engineering design. Students engage in engineering design throughout the program, and gain experience in computer aided design and modeling, conceptual design, and physical construction. Entry requirements

For international students

The secondary school graduation certificate which would admit a student to an internationally recognized university in their home country is normally acceptable for admission to the University of Guelph.Students presenting predicted, interim or midterm grade 12/senior level results may be considered for a conditional offer of admission if all prerequisite courses are completed or in progress and meeting the minimum grade requirements. International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with 6 subjects: 3 Higher Level and 3 Standard Level with a minimum score of 28. Bonus marks from TOK and EE will be taken into consideration. Prerequisites for the major must be taken at the IB DP2 level.Note: For programs with Advanced Math, students must present one of: SL/HL Analysis & Approaches, or HL Applications & Interpretations. Math Studies/Standard Level Applications and Interpretations are not an acceptable prerequisite for programs that require Advanced Math or Calculus.
