The Power Systems Engineering (PSE) program is a four-year Bachelor's degree designed to meet the demand for engineers in the rapidly evolving electrical power and industrial automation sectors. The program provides you with a solid foundation in mathematics, science, and engineering theory, and gradually builds practical and engineering design skills to solve electrical engineering problems. By studying electrical power systems engineering, general and industrial programming languages, and power electronics design, you will be able to apply your knowledge to design systems using grid-tied renewable energy generation, battery storage, the design and delivery of utility distribution systems and smart-grid technologies to meet sustainability goals for the future. The program provides a full spectrum of employability skills through small classes, hands-on laboratories, project-based learning, a full year capstone project, and paid co-operative education. Graduating from this program satisfies the education requirements for on your path towards professional engineering licensure, preparing you to work in the fields of electrical engineering, industrial automation design, and preventative maintenance engineering in Canada.
