What will I learn?

Biological Science allows you to explore, discover and understand biology from a variety of perspectives from molecules to populations. Your studies will focus on the study of living organisms, their evolution, interactions with other organisms and the ecosystems that they live and rely on. The many areas of study under the umbrella of biological science allow for flexibility within the major and allow you to tailor the major to your interest.Gain the skills to create a solid foundation in Biological Science with courses cover molecular biology and genetics, biochemistry, evolution, physiology, ecology and statistics. Pursue an international exchange andor add a minor in the arts, social sciences, sciences, or business to diversify your experiences and skills.The skills gained in our Biological Science BIOS degree will prepare you for a diverse set of career pathways, connecting your interests to your goals for work or further studies.

Entry requirements

For international students

The secondary school graduation certificate which would admit a student to an internationally recognized university in their home country is normally acceptable for admission to the University of Guelph.Students presenting predicted, interim or midterm grade 12/senior level results may be considered for a conditional offer of admission if all prerequisite courses are completed or in progress and meeting the minimum grade requirements. International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with 6 subjects: 3 Higher Level and 3 Standard Level with a minimum score of 28. Bonus marks from TOK and EE will be taken into consideration. Prerequisites for the major must be taken at the IB DP2 level.Note: For programs with Advanced Math, students must present one of: SL/HL Analysis & Approaches, or HL Applications & Interpretations. Math Studies/Standard Level Applications and Interpretations are not an acceptable prerequisite for programs that require Advanced Math or Calculus.
