What will I learn?

Genetics is the science of heredity and heredity deals with the mechanisms of inheritance. The Genetics program represents three main areas classical genetics, population genetics and molecular genetics. Students will study advances in medicine, agricultural techniques, heritable IQ, genetically modified organisms, genetic counselling and gene therapy.The Faculty of Science offers multiple programs of study leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics. The Genetics degrees are offered jointly by the departments of Biological Sciences and Microbiology. Students who complete an undergraduate degree in Genetics and are looking for graduate level training can explore opportunities in many areas, including Biological Sciences and Microbiology.
