What will I learn?

You will explore the current state of knowledge in astrophysics, examine new and emerging theories and utilize modern techniques to analyze and solve problems in astronomy and astrophysics. Students in the Astrophysics specialization develop extensive knowledge in physics and math, as well as strong analytical and computational skills. This specialization will prepare you for graduate work and a wide variety of career options in astronomy and physics.

Entry requirements

For international students

Entry requirements may vary from country to country. Students are required to complete international academic qualification equivalent to Canada Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

An Ontario college diploma or Ontario college advanced diploma (or equivalent*) with a minimum mid-70s average.

English language proficiency requirements

  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Overall score of 6.5 with no sub-score less than 6.0
  • Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): Minimum score of 85.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Minimum score of 58.
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Internet-based test (iBT) with a total score of 83, and minimum scaled scores of Listening: 20; Reading: 20; Speaking: 19; and Writing: 20.
