What will I learn?

Our Astrophysics program explores a wide range of questions about the physics and properties of stars, galaxies and the universe. You will study the properties of and physics behind astrophysical objects, and, through computational lessons, develop the tools and techniques to solve physics and geophysical problems. The learning process is enhanced through access to department resources including the Astronomical Observatory, which is available for solar and evening observing. The Bachelor of Science with Major is a highly customizable degree program with a wide breadth of topics to study. The degree includes an optional minor or double major. This flexibility allows students to design their degree around two areas of interest, or choose to focus on only one area. Students have the option to keep their program broad or delve deeper into a discipline of their choice. Your minor can be chosen from 60 plus subjects, including many offered by the Faculty of Arts, Native Studies, Business or Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students applying directly from high school.

Admission is based on complete academic history and achievement in three main areas: Grades, English proficiency, and completion of required subjects.

English language Requirement:

TOEFL: iBT: At least 90 with a minimum score of 21 points in each section

IELTS(Academic): At least 6.5 with no band less than 6.0

CanTEST(Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees): At least 4.5, with no part lower than 4

PTE(Academic): At least 61, with no less than 60 in each communicative skill

CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language assessment) Either CAEL (paper) or CAEL CE (computer): A score of at least 70, with no band less than 60

Duolingo English Test: 120 for English Language Proficiency, with no sub score below 100
