You can pursue your dream job or stay at Northern for an extra year to graduate with an advanced diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology to make you even more sought after by high-paying employers.There’s also the option of a university degree. So, whatever direction you choose, it’s definitely a solid career move.Technicians maintain power generation stations and transmission lines and work in areas such as protection, industrial telecommunications, electrical maintenance and installation, and control systems.They will learn how to select, design, install, maintain, program and troubleshoot modern industrial, electrical and electronic systems.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible you must possess the equivalent of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

Proof of Senior High School Diploma/Certificate

English Proficiency (we will require one of the following): IELTS Academic International English Language Testing System: minimum overall score of 6.0 must be achieved with no individual band score under 6.0; however, we will accept one band at 5.5; TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – Computer-based overall minimum score of 79; PTE (Pearson Test of English) Academic – Graduate Diploma: 58+.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
