What will I learn?

The animation, visual effects and gaming industry is one of the fastest growing global job sectors. Our two-year intensive diploma program equips students with the skills they need to thrive in this exciting field.Over the course of 24 months, our students work with industry-standard software and hardware under the instruction and mentorship of industry professionals and animation experts. Students will gain experience in character design, modelling, drawing, environment design, compositing, texturing, rigging, lighting, rendering, game design, level design, and storyboarding all under the guidance of expert instructors in Langara's state-of-the-art computer labs. This in-depth program prepares graduates for a range of roles in the 3D animation, visual effects and gaming industry. Our program runs for six consecutive terms to fast-track you into launching your career, simulating the intensity of working in a real-world production studio. Graduates will exit the program with a diploma from one of BC’s most respected public colleges and a professional portfolio and demo reel.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students who have completed B.C. Grade 12 or equivalent.

English Language Proficiency:

Students must demonstrate English-language proficiency with one of the following:

  • Successful completion of B.C. Grade 12 English or Communications or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary English or Communications course for which Langara awards transfer credit

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
