What will I learn?

The Diploma in Applied Linguistics is a one-year program for individuals who already have a Bachelor's degree and wish to specialize in teaching English or other additional languages. The diploma provides a balance of theoretical and practical learning. This includes courses in pedagogical approaches and methods, as well as a 20-hour language teaching practicum at a Victoria-area school.Our programs explore everything from the structure of languages around the world, to how language is organized in our minds and how best to teach languages.

Entry requirements

For international students

completion of four years of full-time academic studies in which all language of instruction is English, at a high school or post-secondary institution in a recognized English-speaking countryHigh school diploma or equivalent (academic stream) with high-level results / minimum GPA 3.0 or equivalentcompletion of Grade 12 English or its equivalent in Canada with a final grade of 86% or higher within the last three years prior to admissiona score of 86% or higher on the BC Provincial Grade 12 English Examination within the last three years prior to admissiona score of 4 or higher on the Advanced Placement Exam in English Language and Compositiona score of 4 or higher on IB Higher Level English A
