What will I learn?

Latin American Studies at Langara College provides an interdisciplinary approach to learning about the geography, culture, history, and political economy of this diverse region.Our curriculum features core courses taught by a team of instructors whose diverse backgrounds enable them to bring unique perspectives to the classroom. Elective courses from a range of departments across the College feed into and enhance our program.All our courses are university-transferable. Our courses can be taken for general interest, or applied toward the Associate of Arts Degree or the Arts and Science Diploma in Latin American Studies. Entry requirements

For international students

Students must have a BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent).

English Language Requirements

  • A minimum 50% in English First Peoples 12, English Studies 12, Literary Studies 12;
  • Langara English Test (LET) with a score of 2;
  • An 'S' grade in ENGL 1107 or 1110; or a minimum 'C' grade in ENGL 1120;
  • A minimum 'D' grade in an English (Post-Secondary Transfer) course;
  • IB English A (HL or SL) or IB English Literature and Performance (SL) with a score of 2;
  • AP English Literature and Composition or AP English Language and Composition with a score of 2; or
  • A minimum 'C' grade in GCSE O-Level English, GCSE English Language B.
  • *There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
