What will I learn?

Led by renowned chefs, our two-year Culinary Arts program offers expert, hands-on instruction at one of the best culinary schools in Canada. Train alongside culinary pros, gaining expertise in foundational cooking, garde manger, global cuisines, patisserie, culinary management and other culinary techniques. Whether you want to be an executive chef, sous-chef, food stylist or pursue hotel and convention centre culinary opportunities, this program will prepare you. Our focus is your success with small class sizes, personalized support, and upgraded facilities, including the Charcuterie Lab and SAIT’s gourmet Marketplace. Real-world experiences at the Highwood restaurant, downtown Campus, and 4 Nines Dining Centre prepare you for the culinary industry.

Entry requirements

For international students

At least 50% in the following courses or their equivalents: English Language Arts 10-1 or English Language Arts 10-2 or Humanities 10 and, Math 10C or Math 10-3.

SAIT accepts high school course equivalents for admission.

English language requirement:

International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.0 in each skill/category

Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL): 60 overall band

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): A minimum score of 20 in each category

Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment (CLBA): A score of 8 in each section

Pearson Test of English (PTE): A minimum score of 53

Michigan English Test (MELAB): A minimum score of 51

Duolingo: 105 minimum
