What will I learn?

Upon the successful completion of International Year One (UTP Stage II), you’ll begin the second year of your degree at TMU, where you’ll have access to industry experts, an optional co-op program, case competitions and networking events to strengthen and put your skills to work in professional environments. Study in the heart of Canada’s business district with faculty committed to ground breaking teaching strategies that combine theory and practice.


International Year One (UTP Stage II): Commerce Program Structure


During the International Year One (UTP Stage II): Commerce you will take a range of first year business and elective courses.


Upon successful completion of the International Year One (UTP Stage II): Commerce, including achieving a 2.67 CGPA for Hospitality and Tourism Management majors, or 2.8 CGPA for the rest of the majors listed above, students will progress into the Bachelor of Commerce program at TMU’s Ted Rogers School of Management with a minimum of 10.0 credits.

Entry requirements

For international students

The minimum age requirement at TMUIC is 17 years old. Students must turn 17 by the last day of their first semester to be admitted.

Academic Entry Requirements

Entry into International Year One (UTP Stage II) generally requires the successful completion of Year 12 of secondary school or its equivalent with overall and individual subject requirements depending on program.

Direct Entry

If you meet the direct entry English language requirement and meet the relevant academic requirements for your country, you will be eligible for direct entry to International Year One (UTP Stage II). Direct entry includes a non-credit support course called Introduction to our Learning Community (ILC101). This program is designed to be completed in three terms.

Integrated Entry

If you meet the integrated entry English language requirement and the relevant academic requirements for your country, you will begin International Year One (UTP Stage II) and will take ILC101, two academic courses and two required integrated tutorials to support your academic courses in your first term of study. This program is designed to be completed in three terms.
