Designed to be completed in one year, the new MA Program in Communication, Media & Digital Culture (CMDC) provides students with a unique opportunity to pursue their studies in a supportive environment conducive to critical analysis and research. Through coursework and independent research, students examine the political, economic, cultural, social, and historical dimensions of our contemporary media environment.Our faculty offer research leadership in areas such as advertising and consumer culture branding and promotional culture the political economy of new/social media platforms, privacy and surveillance cultural, gender, and postcolonial studies urban media studies contemporary politics and media critical pedagogy and media literacy diasporic cinema, film theory and history.Our graduates have gone on to work in the communications and cultural industries (social media management, advertising, PR, etc.) governmental and non-governmental organizations, community-based public advocacy organizations, media research, policy analysis, and a plethora of other workplaces.
