Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) in Software Engineering

This thesis-based program focuses on advancing knowledge of software lifecycle from design, implementation, and testing through to documentation and maintenance through intensive research. McMaster’s Department of Computing and Software advances the field of computing through education and research. We focus on computing research problems that involve scientific theory, engineering practice, and the interface between the two. We seek to address society’s need for better methods of developing information systems and dependable, safe, secure, high-quality software.Students must successfully complete four graduate courses and successfully defend a thesis. Students may be required to take more courses as judged by the graduate committee. All programs of study are subject to the approval of the Department Chair.
