What will I learn?

Grounded in the traditions of the Indigenous peoples of Alberta, the international and interdisciplinary focus of this specialization attracts students from a variety of disciplines and locations. This specialization combines the conventional parameters and standards of university education with the collective efforts of Indigenous students, scholars, and Elders.Its aim is to facilitate and support individuals whose work is grounded in the values, integrity, and knowledge systems of Indigenous peoples locally and globally. Cultural activities include orientation week-ends, sharing circles, Elders support and ceremony.

Entry requirements

For international students

MEd students are initially admitted into the course-based route. Applicants to the master's degree must have a four-year bachelor's degree (or equivalent) that has been granted by a recognized academic institution and grade point average of 3.0 on a 4-point grading scale. Additionally, some specializations may require previous professional experience; for example, the Educational Administration and Leadership specialization requires applicants to have of two years of teaching experience or equivalent.
