What will I learn?

The MSW at King's is a Direct Practice (non-thesis) program designed to develop and enhance the knowledge and practice skills of social work professionals.The MSW Program is not offered online or through Distance Studies.The 2-year MSW program is designed for students who have completed a 4-year degree in a different discipline. This program is structured to deliver foundational social work courses during the three terms of the first year and advanced social work courses during the three terms of the second year. This program is 24 months in length.

Entry requirements

For international students

1-YEAR MSW

  • A Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from an accredited university
  • At least a 70% average in the last two full-time years, or part-time equivalent
  • Completion of a Research Methods course

2-YEAR MSW

  • A 4-year Bachelor degree
  • Minimum 70% average in the last two full-time years, or part-time equivalent
  • Completion of a Research Methods course

Applicants who obtained their Bachelor of Social Work from another country must provide confirmation from the Canadian Association of Social Work that their degree has been assessed as equivalent.

English language requirements:
