In the Industrial Ecology program, we emphasize research-intensive, sustainability-focused and interdisciplinary work.You’ll graduate with a deeper understanding of the complexities of sustainable development, including the influences of economic, political and regulatory factors. In your final term, you’ll undertake a graduate project in industrial ecology.This is a project-based program there is no thesis.OutcomesGraduates with an MEng in Industrial Ecology will be able to:assemble and compute energy and material flows in an industrial society over a range of scalesframe, develop and apply systems approaches for determining the environmental and economic impacts of infrastructureplan and analyze systems for material reuse and recyclingdemonstrate understanding of the scientific basis of environmental impacts of human activitiesexplain how the methods and tools of industrial ecology can be applied in business, economic and public policy contexts
