What will I learn?

This three-year advanced diploma program will provide you with a full range of intervention, prevention and treatment strategies to facilitate a positive change for children, adolescents and families in need of emotional, social, developmental or mental health support. You will receive in-depth training and education in behavioural theories, practices and a foundational understanding of assessment, intervention, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and activities with children and youth.
As a graduate of this program who meets GPA requirements, you are eligible to pursue internal pathway opportunities at Seneca, including the Honours Bachelor of Child Development and Honours Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies. You are also eligible to pursue Seneca’s Honours Bachelor of Mental Health and Addiction - a unique pathway that allows you to earn a degree within two years (4 semesters plus a work-term) after completion of a summer bridging stream, which includes the following courses
MHB399: Advanced Studies in Community Mental Health
MHB499: Health and Community Psychology
MHB799: Trauma Methods and practices in Community Mental Health
