University degree graduates from a related field of study can complete this highly collaborative program in 10 months. OTAs and PTAs work with people who have limited or impaired functionality due to injury, illness, disability or aging. This program is designed for students looking for OTA/PTA designation and for those who want to enhance their application to a Master of Physical Therapy, Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy. Students train through simulation, experiential learning, interprofessional learning and over 500 placement hours under the guidance and supervision of registered occupational therapists and physiotherapists. Learning outcomes represent culminating demonstrations of learning and achievement. In addition, learning outcomes are interrelated and cannot be viewed in isolation of one another. As such, they should be viewed as a comprehensive whole. They describe performances that demonstrate that significant integrated learning by graduates of the program has been achieved. Several placement opportunities in settings such as hospitals, private clinics and home care
