Practice-focused programme equips students with the skills and knowledge to succeed in today's fast-paced media environment. This hands-on course builds the knowledge and skills needed today in the changing and dynamic world of media, whether is working online, in radio, TV or photojournalism, giving you the practical, real-world experience needed to succeed. The BA in Communications is a three-year full-time programme which provides students with an introduction to all aspects of contemporary communications practice. Through the completion of practical and academic projects, students gain first-hand experience of the communications and media environment that would prepare them for successful careers in a range of communications professions. Graduates of this programme can also progress to the final year of the BA (Hons) in Communications and Media Production to obtain a Level 8 qualification. In this course, students will: Develop critical skills in written, audio and visual communications. Gain an understanding of the social, economic, and political context in communications. Design and produce effective media content. Build a professional portfolio of work. Attain membership of the National Union of Journalists.
