What will I learn?

The UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics delivers a wide range of taught and research programmes at graduate level. These programmes reflect the breadth of our disciplines and research activity as well as the ubiquity of mathematical sciences in modern scientific research.Our Graduate Research programmes Masters by Research PhD provide you with the opportunity to engage in supervised research on a topic of current interest in one of the disciplines of the School. You should have a strong background and proven ability in the relevant discipline. If you are interested in pursuing this option we would advise you to familiarize yourself with the Research in the School and to contact prospective supervisors among the academic staff.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible to enter one of UCDs PhD programmes, a candidate must have reached a high honours standard at the examination for the primary degree. In some cases, a Masters degree may also be required. In certain cases, a candidate may be able to provide other evidence to the School in order to satisfy the entry requirements of the programme.
