What will I learn?

The School has over two hundred research students pursuing MSc, PhD or MD degrees.Research activities within the School of Medicine are focused in six major thematic areas, Cancer, Genetics, Infection and Immunity, Molecular Medicine, Neurosciences and Population Health.Research is undertaken at our teaching hospitals including, St James’s, the Trinity Centre at Tallaght University Hospital, and St Patrick’s. There is a major emphasis on Translational Research in the School, where research discoveries made in the laboratory can be advanced to a clinical setting to benefit human health.
