What will I learn?

With over 30 subjects to choose from you can customise your BA degree to suit your interests and career path. Over the three years of your BA degree you will gain the critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and communication skills that employers want. Practical experiences such as internships are on offer too. Bachelor of Arts specialisation option You can also do a BA with a specialisation pathway. Specialisations include a set programme of courses centred on a broad theme. These allow you to develop expertise in more subjects than a major, as well as the opportunity to customise your study to your particular interests. See the Bachelor of Arts - Specialisations. Study Involve: Choose from over 30 Arts subjects as your major and minor, or double major. Many courses offer field trips, real-world case studies, performances, internships, and community projects. You have the option to study a minor from additional subjects across Arts, Commerce, Digital Screen, Health, Product Design, Science, Sport, and Youth and Community Leadership. Get involved with some of the many Arts related student clubs including Arts Society, Japan Society, Classoc, and Musoc.This subject traces history and culture using artefacts, architecture, photos, and more. Learn to find meaning through objects and see how these affect our experiences. Study Involve: Learn in the main and city centre campuses. Get hands-on with our James Logie Memorial Collection of ancient artefacts in the Teece Museum of Classical Antiquities in the city, and Aotearoa New Zealand’s cultural collections at Te Puna Rakahau o Macmillan Brown, Macmillan Brown Library on campus. Internship courses where you can gain practical skills and build connections. Combine Art History and Theory studies with other subject interests like Classics, Anthropology, and languages.
