What will I learn?

The Bachelor of Arts with Honours Politics and International Relations allows you to take a political issue that grabbed your attention as an undergraduate student and investigate it further. Politics is exciting and relevant. Its about contests for power and how we make decisions in society who gets what, when and how, from the local community to the global level. Its concerned with the conflict of ideas and values. It has to do with who governs, and how and why decisions that affect all of us such as how much students should pay to study at university or whether the UN should sanction military interventions are made. At Massey, politics is taught in a small interdisciplinary programme where you have regular and close contact with academic staff. Your lecturers are active researchers in their respective fields. They are a politically diverse group who critically and enthusiastically engage with contemporary and historical events.

Entry requirements

For international students

We offer short English language courses such as the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course IELTS tests and preparation courses and Occupational English Tests. To study at Massey as an international student you will need to meet certain entry requirements. These include English language skills and a qualification from high school or other university. We recognise these English language examinations International English Language Testing System (IELTS) academic scores only Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Cambridge English Qualifications NZCEL Pearson Test of English (Academic) Language Cert. Your test results (scores) are valid for two years from the date on which you took the test. If you have taken a test other than the English language examinations listed above include it with your Application for Admission as an International Student. It might be considered.UG - Academic IELTS - 6.0 overall and minimum 5.5 in each band TOEFL IBT Overall score 80 minimum 19 in writing TOEFL Paper Based 160.
