What will I learn?

Graduate with specialist skills and be equipped to handle operational leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making for management and marketing roles in any changing business environment, locally or globally. Gain applied business knowledge and hands-on skills connected to the local industry so you can hit the ground running. Choose a single or double major in Management or Marketing. NMIT has been offering a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) since 1993. The current qualification, remodelled in 2019, builds upon years of successful delivery and ongoing industry engagement in response to the ever-changing business environment. We are committed to ensuring our Bachelor of Commerce remains applied and relevant to modern business needs, with regular updates to learning resources to reflect the current and future business environment. The programme takes the opportunity to employ a range of applied learning activities e.g. project/problem-based learning, simulated business scenarios, flipped learning and case studies. This ensures our learners are ready to hit the ground running when they graduate. Aims of the programme: Graduates of the BCom programme will have the personal attributes, specialist knowledge and professional skills necessary to make an immediate and valuable contribution in demanding and evolving business environments whether locally, nationally or internationally. The programme offers grounding in research practice and thinking, and provides for the acquisition of practical research skills enabling students to undertake directed research at an undergraduate level and apply these work ready skills in their professional practice. The BCom programme aims to provide opportunities for students to further develop their abilities to critically evaluate and analyse data and qualitative information and to identify, implement and promote decision making that is innovative and value adding for their enterprise.
