What will I learn?

If you’re passionate about bringing characters to life through movement, the Animation major in the Bachelor of Screen Arts centres on the heart of the craft: the art and skill of animating.]You’ll be introduced to the core principles of animation across both 2D and 3D formats, with a focus on gesture, timing, weight, and performance. You’ll gain practical experience with industry-standard tools and workflows, exploring your creative voice while working solo or as part of a team.Animation remains the central focus, but you’ll also gain exposure to supporting areas such as rigging (2D and 3D), modelling, texturing, lighting, visual storytelling, storyboarding and design. For those interested in developing these further, a range of electives and self-directed resources are available. In your final year, you'll collaborate on an original team-based production that brings everyone’s skills together in a shared creative pipeline.Whether you’re aiming for studio work, independent filmmaking, or simply exploring animation as part of your creative toolkit, this major provides a flexible framework to support your development.
