Diploma in Management

New Zealand

What will I learn?

We strongly recommend that students who have no previous tertiary study or relevant work experience should instead enrol in the Certificate in Business/Management. Please contact the Management Student Centre to discuss your study options. This one-year diploma provides an introduction to management and provides a springboard to further study. The Diploma in Management will provide you with an intermediate-level university qualification that is equivalent to the second year of a bachelor's degree. It takes a year of full-time study, or longer if you wish to study part-time.The Diploma in Management (DipMgt) can provide a springboard to move into a more advanced qualification, such the Bachelor of Business or the Bachelor of Management Studies with Honours, without having to start your studies from scratch. However, if you do not have any previous tertiary study or relevant work experience, or you are looking for a more introductory qualification at 100-level, we strongly recommend that you should instead enrol in either the Certificate in Business or the Certificate in Management. To complete the Dip(Mgt), students must pass eight papers, including at least five papers (75 points) from subjects in the field of Management. The other three papers can be electives from any subject. At least five of your eight papers must be taken at 200 Level or above. You'll be studying at Waikato Management School, which is ranked in the top 1% of business schools worldwide.
