What will I learn?

This Diploma offers people who hold a bachelor's degree in a major in an unrelated area the opportunity to study science in-depth. It is designed to provide a qualification for graduates seeking to qualify for entry to postgraduate qualifications in science, change career direction, or to extend or upgrade their existing qualifications. Postgraduate study in Philosophy at UC allows you to delve deeper into fundamental questions of our society. Postgraduate students develop advanced skills in, analysis, argument and writing, and learn to place contemporary ideas and debates in their wider philosophical context. Our department is internationally recognised and a challenging and rewarding place to study. Study Involve: UC Philosophy brings together expertise in metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of mind and cognition, and logic. This diversity allows you to explore different approaches to philosophical questions and develop your own research interests. The Department of Philosophy has a strong, active culture with regular seminars from local, and visiting international speakers.

Entry requirements

For international students

Entry to the Graduate Diploma requires a bachelor's degree, which does not need to be in the same area of study. If you gained your qualification overseas, this will need to be assessed to ensure it is of an equivalent standard.

Acceptance will depend on the standard and relevance of previous studies.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
