What will I learn?

Gain the knowledge, skills, and tools to enable a shift towards sustainable development from the perspective of environmental sustainability, good governance, and institutions. The Master of Sustainable Development Goals Economics for Sustainability focuses on the theory and practice of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals SDGs. This programme addresses the most pressing imperative facing humanity and the planet sustainability. The SDGs are the UNs ambitious macro-level plan for humankinds development and sustainability. The goals address global challenges including those related to poverty and inequality, climate and environmental degradation, prosperity, peace and justice. All students take two core courses in sustainable development. The first will introduce you to the theories of sustainable development and the SDGs. The second course focuses on multi-disciplinary frameworks. The courses will also focus on how to measure progress against the SDGs, as well as alternative and indigenous paradigms, knowledge and practice in the field of sustainability.

Entry requirements

For international students

All students must meet university entrance requirements to be admitted to the University.To enter the Master of Sustainable Development Goals (Economics for Sustainability) you will have been awarded or qualified for a bachelors degree (or equivalent) with a grade average of at least B in the highest level courses.You will need to provide verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.International English Language Requirements IELTS - 6.5 overall and minimum 6.0 in each bandTOEFL iBT Overall score 90 minimum 20 in WritingCambridge English - C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a score of 176. No less than 169 in each skill.NCEL - Level 5PTE - 58 overall and minimum 50 in each communicative skillsLanguageCert - C1 Expert IESOL (LRWS) with HIGH PASS and no less than Pass in each skill or C2 Mastery IESOL (LRWS) with PASS and no less than Pass in each skill
