What will I learn?

Students will experience a wide range of projects and skills including animation, filmmaking, photography, print making and creative design. Students will be given opportunities to drive their own creative projects and collaborate with others to develop creative outputs. Learners will be able to build on their existing portfolios and knowledge to be able to continue their studies or enter industry and community creative endeavours. The New Zealand Certificate in Creativity is a half year programme that allows you to express your creativity using the latest techniques and technology. Learners will engage in a range of skills that develop both individual creative practice and collaborative practices. Learners will develop skills in animation, drawing, filmmaking, set development, digital painting, photography, printmaking, art history and professional development. Learners will be using the latest techniques and processes to build their creative practice, while also understanding the historical context for their studies. Learners will build on their existing practice and be set up to be able to work in community/industry on creative project or further their knowledge in further study.

Entry requirements

For international students

Entry is open to degree graduates, however those who are able to demonstrate equivalent practical, professional or educational experience of an appropriate kind, may be granted admission.In addition, all applicants must gain approval from the Programme Manager regarding paper selection, and any applicable pre requisite requirements. Where the requisite knowledge or skill does not exist to allow direct entry into a Level 6 or 7 paper, some Level 5 study may be required in addition to the credit requirements.Additional CriteriaThe following requirements apply to applicants in all admissions categories.All applicants are required to attend a live audition, or to provide a high quality CD or provide links to an audition performance on a shared platform such as Youtube or Dropbox. Once an application is received, applicants will be sent details regarding audition material.Applicants are required to provide two confidential references from people who are able to affirm that the applicant is of good character and reputation.English language requirement
