What will I learn?

The New Zealand Certificate in Digital Media and Design (Level 3) aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge required for employment or further training. The theoretical and practical skills taught in this qualification reflect the diverse range of skills required to work in the sector. Students will explore a variety of techniques and approaches to animation, gaming and film-making through a variety of projects. The programme aims to develop a character and associated environment to support a game concept/film concept through a narrative or experimental framework, basic 3D and spatial concepts through the principles of sculpture in actual and digital environments, basic concepts through the principles of painting, and basic concepts through the principles of photography.

School LeaversSuccessful completion of the NZ Diploma in Audio Engineering and Production Level 5Special entry may be granted where evidence exists that the applicant can successfully complete the programmeMature ApplicantsConsideration will be given to applicants aged 20 years or older who do not meet the entry criteria if they can demonstrate a history of work, industry experience which in the opinion of the Programme Managers exhibits a likelihood of success in the programme of studyConsideration will be given to students who progress through other TPP/MAINZ/SIT programme pathways e.g. Foundation Sound and MusicApplicants may be required to attend an interview or provide a portfolio of audio related work.
