What will I learn?

Studying accounting and finance at DMU provides you with the skills and knowledge to embark on a wide range of careers in accounting and finance. Recent graduates have progressed to careers in positions such as Commercial Finance Analyst at Red Bull, Auditor at KPMG, Cost Technician at PepsiCo, Tax Processor at Grant Thornton and Financial Criminal Analyst at Barclays. Our high-tech Trading Floor simulates what it is like to work in the financial services industry. It provides access to industry-standard software, including Bloomberg and LSEG Workspace, giving students similar information platforms to those used by leading business, financial and government decision-makers around the globe. Within the programme, employability skills will be embedded throughout your learning journey. Our close links with employers and major professional accounting bodies will give you opportunities to enhance your career prospects. For example, you could gain exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Certified Practicing Accountants Australia (CPA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA), the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) and the Association of International Accountants (AIA).

Entry requirements

For international students

Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Maths, Plus one of the following: A typical offer is 112 UCAS points. You need to study at least two subjects at A Level or equivalent (e.g. BTEC), T Levels – Merit, BTEC National Diploma - Distinction/Merit/Merit, BTEC Extended Diploma - Distinction/Merit/Merit
