What will I learn?

Robotics and AI are rapidly transforming industry and society. Both are increasingly used to improve efficiency, safety and sustainability in areas ranging from healthcare to agriculture.

There’s a growing demand for experts who can develop robotics and AI systems to apply to real-world situations. On this course, you’ll gain essential skills in robotics, machine learning, computer vision and control. You won’t just study theory. Through hands-on laboratory work, coursework assignments and projects you’ll design, build and test robotic and AI systems. Your dissertation gives you the opportunity to engage in live project work, linked to current research or industry applications.

Sussex has a strong reputation in research and teaching in robotics, sensing technologies and AI:

  • Sussex AI – a Centre of Excellence – has a distinctive interdisciplinary approach, embracing philosophers, neuroscientists, business and law academics, as well as computer scientists
  • our Centre for Robotics and Sensing Technologies (CROSS-Tech) develops leading science and technology in robotics and sensing to address global challenges.
