Dig deep into archaeological theory, practice and trends at one of the most highly regarded centres for archaeology in Britain. The flexibility of this programme – with over 30 optional modules to choose from – makes it ideal for shaping your studies towards the archaeology of specific regions, periods or themes, and your specific career goals. This programme offers great flexibility and can be studied full-time over 12 months or part-time over 24 months. You can also make it multi-disciplinary by taking modules from other departments such as Anthropology, Geography or History. In addition to the two compulsory modules and the dissertation, you can choose from modules covering a broad range of topics: ancient technologies and data area studies Egypt, China, Near East and others time periods covering Neolithic to modern day. This programme is suitable for students with a first degree in: Archaeology, Anthropology, History, Classics. Students with other disciplinary backgrounds may be asked to complete the Institute's Graduate Diploma in Archaeology as a condition for entry. This degree will appeal to those who wish to develop skills relevant to a professional career in archaeology, or to those who want to continue to a research degree in the field.
