What will I learn?

This course is your launchpad into storytelling through moving image and is designed to prepare you for progressing to a top Art & Design university. A practical and hands-on course, you will actively produce your own original work using a mix of handmaking techniques and cutting-edge digital tools to build worlds, tell powerful stories and develop your own creative style. We’ll dive into iconic and contemporary films and take inspiration from real-world creators. From your first idea to your final edit, you’ll experience the full production process: brainstorming concepts, storyboarding, filming, animating, editing and crafting sound. Along the way, you’ll explore everything from experimental visuals to cinematic storytelling, pushing your imagination further than you thought possible and building a portfolio that stands out when applying to top universities. By the end, you’ll have created your own original projects, whether that’s short films, animations, documentaries, music videos or even immersive multimedia pieces. More importantly, you’ll have a strong, diverse portfolio and the creative confidence to take your next step toward studying film or animation at a top university.
