Chemistry with a Foundation Year

This foundation course is designed for candidates who have not studied the required subjects for first-year entry, have missed entrance requirements due to adverse circumstances or sporting commitments, or are mature students or care leavers returning to education.Taught in-house by university and specialist Foundation staff, the course offers full access to Loughborough University’s facilities, including the Students’ Union, clubs, societies, and sports services.Students progress through a blend of lectures, seminars, labs, tutorials, and optional field trips. Modules include Chemistry and a selection from Applicable Mathematics, Physics, Geography, Sport Science, Economics, Biology, Business, Materials with Engineering Science, and Programming with Electronics or Design.Successful completion enables progression to the first year of any degree offered by the Department of Chemistry, provided progression criteria are met.
