Course Overview

We offer a degree which examines crime from multiple perspectives to understand its impact on individuals and society. On this course you will explore the theories, policies, processes and relationships that influence attitudes, beliefs and behaviour.

You will also develop a range of research skills that enhance your employability, such as critical thinking and data interpretation, how to evaluate evidence and write reports, presenting reasoned arguments and making ethical judgements.

What are my career prospects

Our Criminology programme is a springboard for entry in to probation; the course at Bucks covers the requisite modules for this, as well as for postgraduate study in Social Work.

Recent graduates of Criminology have secured employment in probation, national security, the police force, and cyber crime and prevention, as well as undertaking postgraduate study in Law.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students require successful completion of a High School Diploma with GPA above 2.8, plus one of the following: SAT with a minimum of 1100 overall, and a minimum of 550 from Evidence Based Reading and Writing, and Mathematics; Minimum of 3 APs with grades above 3. International students with IELTS 6.0 (5.5) or below will have to undertake an enhanced curriculum in addition to the advertised programme.
