There are thriving and energetic undergraduate and MRes programmes and a significant number of staff conducting Film Studies research at Keele. Staff in Film Studies have established regional and national collaborative working relationships with other scholars. The Research Institute provides a dynamic and supportive environment for postgraduate study and research. Research students are encouraged to participate in all research activities of the Institute, from attending and giving papers at research seminars to taking part in academic events beyond the University, and are supported through the provision of shared office space, IT equipment and funding to support some travel and other expenses.Students on the Film Studies programme are encouraged to participate in the development and maintenance of the events, publications and workshops which constitute Keele’s vibrant Film Studies culture. There are significant library resources at Keele and regionally (Manchester’s John Rylands and Chetham’s Libraries, the Gladstone Library, and the University Libraries of Birmingham, Oxford and Liverpool) to support Humanities research. In addition, Keele is less than 2 hours away from the extensive scholarly resources and libraries of London, including the BFI.
