The course mixes taught elements with independent research, and you can negotiate the topic of your dissertation project to fit both your personal interests and the supervisory expertise of Sunderland's tutors.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Most courses require a 2:1 classification or equivalent from a USA bachelor's degree or a Canadian bachelor's degree in a subject related area. Specific grade requirements will vary depending on the course chosen. Applicants with professional and vocational experience will also be considered.

For international students

We usually require you to hold at least a 2:2 honours degree in a relevant area. IELTS: You need an overall score of 6.0, with at least 5.5 or higher in each component: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
