What will I learn?

In the age of automation and AI, this MA focuses on the global context of journalism in transition. We critically explore the complex relationships between journalism, politics, market, technology, and culture, led by research experts in the interdisciplinary fields. You’ll develop your professional journalism skills through a diverse range of project-based teaching and assignments. You’ll graduate ready for an enriching career in relevant industries. You’ll: • learn to produce copy for a range of platforms including audio, digital and video • engage with a transnational context of journalism practice and cutting-edge research about issues of news making across countries • explore the transitional processes of journalism and the evolving forms and content of news • develop skills of critical analysis and vital knowledge for a challenging media world. We offer excellent technical facilities. These include a dedicated newsroom, the latest software, video and radio studios, and a suite of digital media laboratories.

Entry requirements

For international students

Degree requirements: You should normally have an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree or above. Subject-specific requirements: Your qualification should be in a relevant social sciences or humanities subject. You can also apply for the course if you dont have the academic qualifications required but can show relevant professional/creative skills and experience.
