The International Year One in Computer Science at the Newcastle University International Study Centre is a pathway programme designed for international students who want to progress directly into Year 2 of a BSc (Hons) Computer Science degree at Newcastle University.
This programme helps students build strong academic, technical, and language skills required for success in higher-level computing studies. Students develop knowledge in programming, computing systems, data science, and academic English while benefiting from smaller class sizes and extra support.

Improving English language proficiency in an academic and technology context
Studying modules aligned with first-year university content
Preparing students for progression into specialist computing degrees, including areas such as cyber security, software engineering, and games engineering
