Law and Criminology - BSc (Hons)

UK

What will I learn?

Why do some acts become crimes, and how does the law respond? BSc (Hons) Law and Criminology is for students who want to understand how crime, justice and legal systems intersect in the real world. This interdisciplinary degree gives you the tools to explore why crime happens, how societies respond, and how laws are created, challenged and applied in practice. You’ll study core areas of law alongside criminology and sociology, learning how legal rules, criminal justice institutions and social forces shape experiences of crime and justice. From courts and policing to inequality, victimisation and human rights, you’ll examine contemporary issues from multiple perspectives. You’ll develop a strong analytical and practical skillset through legal reasoning, criminological theory and the use of data and evidence. By combining critical thinking with real‑world application, this course prepares you to understand complex social problems and contribute to solutions, whether in legal practice, public services or further study.
