What will I learn?

Master’s by Research are postgraduate research degrees at Masters level, offered throughout the University in all represented disciplines. There is no taught component. Instead, you are expected to carry out a research project, supported by specialist supervision. However, you are expected to attend training and development workshops, meeting university requirements and delivering subject-specific training. Students are supported in their independent research study by a supervisory team composed of two faculty members with expertise in your chosen subject area.A Master’s by Research degree provides you with strong research skills training, the possibility to manage a complex project and the opportunity to join the community of postgraduate researchers. A Master’s by Research is also an excellent foundation to embark on a doctorate, and can be undertaken full-time (12-month submission time) or part-time (24-month submission time).
