What will I learn?

Our BSc in Mathematics with a Year in Industry provides a rigorous foundation in advanced mathematical theory and its applications. You’ll develop a well-rounded knowledge of key subdisciplines while having the flexibility to specialise in areas that interest you.In your first and second years, you'll cover core subjects like calculus, algebra, probability, and statistics. From your second year onwards, you can choose to specialise in specific areas or explore a broad range of subjects with extensive options in your fourth year, ranging pure mathematics to financial mathematics, and from statistics to theoretical physics.You will spend your third year gaining valuable work experience with a year-long placement at a UK company before returning to complete your final year with us. Finding an industry placement will require you to be resourceful and engaged.
