What will I learn?

Our Mechanical Engineering degree focus on the necessary graduate attributes and knowledge to meet the needs of industry. You will be offered continuous opportunities to apply and evaluate this acquired knowledge in various practical situations using our mechanical engineering laboratory equipment. Our dedicated state-of-the-art Mechanical laboratories include: Mechanical Engineering Laboratory, ThermoFluids Mechanics Laboratory
Renewable Energy Laboratory, 3D Factory-Laser cutting, 3D Factory-3D Print Room, Computer-Aided Engineering Laboratory
The course provides specialised learning in engineering design and manufacturing processes and provide opportunities to combine analytical, numerical and experimental techniques using industry standard simulation software. Alongside these subject specific skills, we’ll work with you to develop your employability and transferable skills, so you’ll be able to approach industry with confidence

Careers
Our Mechanical graduates have gone on to a range of engineering roles, some as design engineers, project engineers, systems engineers and mechanical engineers. We’ve seen them employed at companies such as Lucideon , Moog Aircraft Group, Expert Tooling and Automation Ltd, UHNM Clinical Technology , UK Ministry of Defence. But there are also many of our graduates who go on to further studies such as our MSc programmes in Mechanical Engineering and Sustainable Energy Technologies , in Automotive Engineering or in Aeronautical Engineering or PhDs.

Entry requirements

For international students

112-120 UCAS Tariff points GCE A Levels - grades BBC or equivalent Pearson BTEC National Extended Diploma - grade DMM Access to HE Diploma - Pass Access with a minimum of 80 UCAS tariff points. Applicants to Staffs who are taking the Access to HE Diploma receive a reduced tariff point offer as part of our access and participation plan activity UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma - grade of Merit overall OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma - grade DMM T Levels - Eligible T Level applications will be asked to achieve a minimum overall grade of P (A-C) or Higher Pass as a condition of offer IELTS Academic - 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each component TOEFL IBT (we do not currently accept Home Edition - Listening: 17, Speaking: 20, Reading: 18, Writing: 17 International Baccalaureate - Pass in IB English Language or Literature HL grade 4 or SL grade 5 egories
