What will I learn?

Europe's oldest and best-established MSc in Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) can now be studied via specialised pathways, enabling you to develop professional skills for amazing careers around the science of well-being. This course has the potential to be taught both on-campus and through distance learning.Positive Psychology is a movement that has challenged the field of psychology to reconsider the positive aspects of life. Instead of drawing on a 'disease model', it encourages empirical research into factors that enable individuals and communities to thrive and focuses on building the best in life. Areas of study include well-being and its determinants, positive emotions, strengths, resilience, creativity, optimism and positive institutions.Positive psychology has been criticised for having an individual focus. If you are serious about creating the world we all want to live in, this MAPP will provide you with knowledge and skills to build better, positive relationships (at dyadic, group and communal levels) understand global and contextual well-being determinants and draw on a wide range of practices, from art-based approaches to meaning interventions, and disciplines (including behavioural economics and positive public health) to build stronger communities and societies. From the point of view of positive psychology, the course will have a strong foundation in cutting-edge theory and research relating to well-being. The coaching element will feature both foundational and advanced training in working with clients and groups in professional capacities.Whether you are a professional coach looking for a recognised qualification, or are only starting your coaching training, this course is for you
